2004-06-27 // Murray Fastrack’s in Formula Ireland Thriller
The Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year Eoin Murray thrilled the crowds at Mondello Park this weekend with a blistering drive in his first ever outing in a Formula Ireland Car. Driving with backing for the weekend from Fastrack, the saloon car racer showed his pace by qualifying in fifth position for the first race of the afternoon. From the start he moved quickly through the field however fading brakes towards the end of the race saw him having to settle eventually for fifth.
In race two the young Firhouse man started from fifth but now with more running time in the car got himself up to fourth and only missed out narrowly on a podium finish. Eoin, who is currently competing in the European Alfa Challenge was satisfied with his performance overall ''as this was my first time in a Formula Ireland car I was concerned that I would be on the pace but I am delighted with the car by JRC Motorsport and the backing from Fastrack to give me the opportunity to race in something completely different.''
