Where it Began
Eoin started his motoracing career in 1993 at the age of ten when he competed in Cadet Karts he quickly progressed through the Karting ranks and won many accolades in his karting career winning the Leinster Trophy meeting for Junior karts and winning the Irish karting championship in 1998.
Catching the Bug
By this time Eoin had really got the Motoracing bug and worked within the family business Murray Motorsport while still competing in Karting events and going to school. He made the step up to motoracing in 1999 at the age of seventeen when he competed in his first Rallycross event driving a Fiat Uno. Even then spectators at that event could sense that this young man was serious about his sport and had a particular talent.
"Movin on up"
By the year 2000 he had put a budget together to buy a Fiat Uno racecar and competed in the Irish Fiat Uno Championship where he had 3 Race wins & 4 pole positions. It was that year also that he headed for the UK and the hotly contested Ford Fiesta Winter Series where he claimed pole position and a second place to show for his efforts.
Overseas Beacons
2001 was the year he did the full Fiesta UK Championship winning the Newcomers Cup and collecting 2 Pole Positions, 2 Fastest Laps & 8 Podium finishes. He crowned that achievement by winning the Jimmy Millard Trophy. He switched to Clio’s for 2002 competing in the Elf Renaultsport UK Clio Cup where he scored 2 podium finishes and took 7th overall in the championship which was no mean achievement in his rookie year. Eoin stuck with the Clio’s for 2003 and had 4 race wins, 4 second places, & 2 third places and came third overall in the Elf Clio UK Championship. During this time he continued to competein British & Irish Rallycross in the Stockhatch class, in a self run Peugeot 205 GTI, where he enjoyed considerable success and took several race wins and podium finishes. He was awarded the Dunlop/ Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the year for 2003. This accolade together with a substantial boost to his budget from Motorsport Ireland and the Irish Sports Council launched his move to Europe where he competed in the European Alfa Romeo Challenge.
Europe
Although it was his first time on all of the tracks he adapted quickly and was immediately on the pace and took 5 podium finishes and two race wins to end his first season 4th overall in the Championship. His efforts did not go unnoticed in Ireland where he again won the Dunlop/Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the year for the second time.
Eoin competed in the European Alfa Romeo Challenge again in 2005 and started as one of the favourites. Eoin did not disappoint and won the championship in Valencia along with 9 podium finishes, 5 fastest laps, 4 pole positions and 3 lap records. And in the process winning a 05 spec Alfa 156 S2000 worth 200,000 euro, the biggest prize an Irish driver has ever won. He also won the 05 Rallycross Stockhatch Championship and these achievements won him the accolade as Ireland international driver of the year.
A touring car seat
After winning a Touring car Eoin was determined to use his new prize. After Alfa left the world championship this left Eoin with little choice for the 06 season. He has spent the first half of the season looking for budget to race in Touring cars. He chose the BTCC and together with Quest racing hopes to compete in the final 6 events.
Eoin has now achieved his goal of becoming a touring car driver and hopes to stay in top line touring cars for a long time to come.
A little help from his friends
During his career Eoin has managed to attract sponsorship from some of the top personalities in Irish Motorsport, Dermot Carnegie (Rallycross) Helmut Holfeld (Rallycross) Bill Griffin (Racing) Austin McHale (Rallying) and this, together with the support from Alfa Romeo Ireland and Motorsport Ireland, has enabled him to continue to pursue his chosen career with considerable success.

The BTCC has huge exposure and with live TV on ITV is it the perfect place for companies to promote their business. Eoin’s main sponsor were arguscarhire.com and Reynolds.
Move back to Europe
After a very successful debut season in 2008 with PRS Group in the Seat Leon Eurocup where he finished a strong 3rd position he was then regarded as a specialist in these cars. For the next 3 years Eoin races for various teams claiming many wins and becoming a brand ambassador for Seat Ireland. By now it was time for a change and in 2011 & 2012 Eoin was offered to race for Rangoni Motorsport & Monolite in some selected races in the Italian Clio Cup and the Euro Cup.
